The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested a former Jackson County jailer for aggravated assault and battery.

52-year-old Ronnie Banks of Bowersville was charged after the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office requested the GBI to help investigate a domestic incident that occurred at a home in Pendergrass on April 29.

Banks was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Jackson County jail according to officials.

Once complete, the case will be handed off to the Piedmont Judicial Circuit for prosecution.
