Investigators have released the names of two people killed during an officer involved shooting and arrest attempt in the town of Alto on Tuesday, July 16.
The two people that died have been identified by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation as Joshua Everett Emmett, 45 of Alto, and Meagan Victoria Feaster, 33 of Forsyth, Georgia.
Details behind what led to the deaths has not been released, as the investigation behind the case is ongoing with GBI officials,as of last report.

Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office deputies were involved in a shooting Tuesday morning that killed two people in Alto.
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said the deputies were serving an arrest warrant to a sex offender for violating the conditions of his probation at around 9:30 a.m. at a home on Tipton Drive.
The shooting reportedly occurred just after 11 a.m. when deputies entered the home.
The two people were shot and pronounced dead at the scene. None of the Forsyth County deputies were injured during the shooting.
Banks County Sheriff’s Office deputies were at the scene but were not involved in the shooting.
The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office and Banks County Sheriff's Office requested an investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
The bodies of both people will be taken to the GBI Crime Lab in Decatur for autopsies. Their identities are being withheld until next of kin are notified.
Once the GBI investigation is complete it will be given to the Banks County District Attorney’s Office for review.

State authorities have been called to investigate after an apparent officer-involved shooting in Banks County Tuesday.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called to investigate the shooting at the request of the Banks County Sheriff's Office.
No details on the incident have been released, but the sheriff's office posted on social media Tuesday that there was an active law enforcement scene in the area of Cedar Drive near Alto.
