At Tuesday's meeting, the Oakwood City Council approved two zoning variances for a proposed childcare facility on Martin Road.
Kiddie Academy will be built on a 1.71-acre plot of land at 4251 Martin Road.
Construction on the facility is expected to begin in 2025 with an early 2026 completion date.
The applicant Brent H. Moye, proposed reducing the minimum number of required parking spaces from 39 to 34. The applicant also proposed a design exception for a guardian wall on the front of the building.
Kiddie Academy submitted a study on traffic flow during pick-up and drop-off times at their nearly 300 other facilities.
“That evaluation revealed that the max was 24 vehicles at the peak morning drop off,” Moye said.
