By Lawson Smith Anchor/Reporter

A Texas man was booked into the Hall County Jail Sunday after being transported from Angleton, Texas on accusations that he abused a female victim under the age of 16.

Jesus Hernandez, 52, of Palacios, allegedly committed the crimes against the victim on at least two occasions at the victim’s Flowery Branch home, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office said in a release. One instance of abuse reportedly happened between 2016 and 2018, while the other allegedly occurred on August 8, 2022.  Hernandez knew the girl prior to the incidents.

A family member of the victim first reported the abuse to HCSO deputies on Dec. 10, 2023, after the victim disclosed it. Investigators began working on the case and obtained warrants for Hernandez’s arrest on March 13, 2024.

Hernandez remained in the Hall County Jail without bond as of last report. The Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the incident.
