Two Georgia men were charged with possession of methamphetamine on Thursday in Towns County.
Deputies pulled over 61-year-old Troy Atkins Cornett of Cartersville, Georgia. According to the Towns County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post, the stop occurred on Highway 288 near Highway 76W.
During the stop, probable cause was used to search the vehicle which resulted in them allegedly finding “an amount” of methamphetamine. The drugs found field-tested positive and were confiscated according to officials.
Troy and 64-year-old James Grady Cornett of Temple, Georgia were both charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug related objects.
Troy was also charged with failure to drive within a single lane.
