One man was critically injured and the suspect was arrested after a Wednesday shooting in Gainesville.
Hall County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer B.J. Williams said a 33-year-old male victim was shot at a location in the 2000 block of Floyd Road.
HCSO deputies and criminal investigators responded to a home on Tulip Drive at around 7 p.m. and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
“The victim was transported to the hospital where he was last reported in critical but stable condition,” Williams said.
The investigation later discovered the shooting occurred on Floyd Road.
Investigators identified the suspect as Dalvontae Dammon Stephens, 30 of Gainesville.
Stephens was arrested and taken to HCSO Headquarters for an interview.
He was charged with aggravated battery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and discharge of a firearm near a public highway.
Stephens was taken to the Hall County Jail and remains there with no bond.
