A suspect is in custody Tuesday following an officer-involved shooting in Toccoa and an ensuing investigation by the GBI at the request of the Toccoa Police Department.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation made the announcement Tuesday evening just after 5 p.m.
No other details have been released.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation at the request of the Toccoa Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Toccoa.
The GBI said Montavious Cantrell Winkfield, 37, of Toccoa, is wanted in connection to the incident.
Toccoa Police officers stopped a vehicle at around 2:10 p.m. on Monday, Jul. 1 near Diagonal Street.
Winkfield allegedly got out of the vehicle and began shooting at the officers.
One of the officers fired a gun at Winkfield and he ran away. He is still on the run according to the GBI. No one was injured in the incident.
Toccoa PD has taken out warrants for Winkfield for two counts of aggravated assault against law enforcement officers.
