As summer temperatures are slowing heading upward this week, prices for unleaded gasoline in Georgia are slowly dropping week to week.
AAA of Georgia is reporting that the current price for unleaded regular gasoline across the state sits at $3.23 per gallon, as of Monday. That's three cents below the average price from a week ago, and 12 cents less than a month ago, and even three cents below the average price from the same time last year.
"Slack demand, rising supply and low crude oil prices continue to chip away at gas prices," according to Montrae Waiters of AAA. "If gas demand remains weak, drivers will likely continue to see pump prices trickle downward this week."
Average gas prices in Hall County are even lower than the state's average Monday, just above $3.19 per gallon, while the lowest average rate in Northeast Georgia is in Clarke County at $3.12 per gallon and the highest average rate in White County, just below $3.33 per gallon.
AAA shows the national average price for unleaded regular gasoline at around $3.44 per gallon on Monday. Full access to average prices in Georgia can be viewed on the AAA website through a link, here.
