City of Winder set to hold 131-year celebration

The city of Winder recently announced it will hold Celebrate Winder on Friday, Jul. 5 marking 131 years.

Winder officials said the party will take place at Jug Tavern Park from 6-10 p.m., featuring multiple activities and entertainment for those of all ages.

Live music from the beach-rock band Swingin’ Medallions will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The celebration will also feature food trucks and a firework display set to take place at 9:30 p.m.

“Our 131st birthday celebration is all about bringing the community together. With great music, delicious food, and a spectacular fireworks display, there’s something for everyone," Director of Special Events Talore Ruedt said.

Winder's new Entertainment District will feature live music from 6-9:30 p.m.

A caricature artist will paint free cartoon versions of patrons at the Plaza at Jackson from 6-9 p.m.

VIP seating is available for those who want the best view of the entertainment and fireworks.

VIP Seating includes:

  • A reserved table and chairs for eight in a roped-off section of Jug Tavern Park 

  • All-access view of the concert and fireworks show

  • Exclusive VIP line at the beverage tent
