A board-certified neurosurgeon with Hall County's Longstreet Clinic has been recognized among “America’s Best Spine Surgeons 2024” by Newsweek and Statista.
Hall County native, Dr. Betsy Grunch, M.D., FAANS, FACS, has been recognized among “America’s Best Spine Surgeons 2024” by Newsweek and Statista, an exclusive list of the 150 best spine surgeons in the country.
A press release by Longstreet Clinic says the rankings were released on Newsweek’s website June 12 and also will be published in an upcoming print edition of Newsweek.
“America’s Best Spine Surgeons 2024” were determined based on the following criteria and data covering:
- Physician Performance Data: Based on Medicare data from CareJourney in 2022, an evaluation of the physician’s performed procedures was conducted.
- Online Survey by State: During the survey period from March to April 2024, thousands of medical experts (physicians with knowledge in the field of spine surgery, managers/administrators, and other medical professionals in the field of spine surgery) were invited to an online survey via Newsweek.com.
- Quality Score: For recommendations in their own state, participants were asked to assess the quality of care (e.g. treatments, follow-up care, use of most recent equipment) for each spine surgeon.
- Certifications: Board certification was taken into consideration for all eligible spine surgeons.
Dr. Grunch said, “I am honored to be named to this prestigious list of surgeons across the country. The clinic's release adds that Dr. Grunch was named a Top Doctor by Georgia Trend magazine for 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and Atlanta magazine for 2022, 2023 & 2024. She was also named to several “40 under 40” lists, among other honors. She also was recognized among Atlanta magazine’s “Women Making a Mark” in 2023.
