Reward for safe return of Maria Gomez Perez increases to $30,000

By Lawson Smith Anchor/Reporter

The reward for missing Maria Gomez Perez, 12, of Gainesville has increased to $30,000 after an anonymous business person contributed an additional $10,000 to the initial amount donated by other anonymous citizens.

The search for Maria continued after her disappearance on May 29, when she was last seen at her home on Westside Drive in Gainesville.

“As investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies push forward in efforts to locate Maria, I am again thankful for another outpouring of support with the extra reward funding,” Sheriff Gerald Couch said. “Someone in the community has that single clue or piece of information that could lead to Maria. I pray this increased reward is encouragement for them to come forward.”

The sheriff’s office continues to urge anyone with information on Maria’s disappearance to call (770) 503-3232 or email [email protected]. Individuals with tips may also call 911 or Hall County 911/Central Communications at (770) 536-8812. Those offering tips can remain anonymous.
