Gwinnett authorities apprehend Surenos Gang member wanted for multiple felony warrants

Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office officials said Alexis Coria, 27, of Lawrenceville was arrested Monday for the Sunday, May 19 murder of Kevin Valdez

Coria faces charges of malice murder, felony, murder and two counts of aggravated assault.

A known Surenos Gang member wanted in Gwinnett County for multiple felony warrants was apprehended Wednesday by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit. 

Fugitive investigators began working to locate Alexis Coria on June 3. Coria was wanted by the Gwinnett County Police Department for charges including Malice Murder, Felony Murder, and two counts of Aggravated Assault.

Investigators collaborated with GCPD detectives and identified Coria leaving an address in Dunwoody as a passenger in a Honda Accord on June 5. Coria was then tracked to be traveling in Acworth. Investigators notified the Acworth Police Department, who conducted a felony stop on the vehicle. 

 Coria was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Gwinnett County Jail.
