Event Location: Farmer’s Market Pavilion, 86 Allen Street, Dawsonville

Event Name: 35th Annual Mountain Top Rodeo
Event Date & Time:
Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8, 6 p.m.
Event Location: R-Ranch in the Mountains, Dahlonega
Event Details: The midway will be open at 6 p.m. with food vendors, bounce houses, a mechanical bull, vendors and more. The rodeo begins at 8 p.m. with all the racing, roping and riding fun. Event Name: Hot Corner Festival

Event Location: The intersection of Hull and Washington Steets, Athens
Event Details: This is the historic African-American business district in Athens. This block party style event brings together the Athens community and businesses to learn about the diverse history of the Hot Corner. The event kicks off Friday night with a gospel extravaganza at the First AME Church. Enjoy games, moon bounce, kids activities, and more. For over 20 years, this event has always been celebrated the 2nd weekend in June. You’ll find vendors, local businesses, artists, food, culture and more. Event Name: Parents’ Night Out

Event Location: Cumming Aquatic Center, 201 Aquatic Cir., Cumming
Event Details: Kids can play while parents enjoy a night out! The pool is reserved for this event and will be staffed with supervisors and lifeguards. A swim test is required to swim without lifejackets. Pizza dinner is included. Kids 5 and 13 years of age are accepted for $24 per child. Register at www.cummingaquaticcenter.com.

Event Name: Scottish Festival Highland Games

Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Event Location: Meeks Park, Blairsville, GA 30512
Event Details: This is a fun, family event for everyone. You can expect to find Scottish athletes, family clans, bagpipes and drums and traditional musicians. The parade of tartans will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday. You may even get to meet Princess Merida there! Kids can get their stamp book filled with all kinds of stamps. Event Name: Historic Downtown Braselton Tours

Saturday, June 8, 10 a.m.
Event Location: 5134 Highway 53 , Braselton
Event Details: Once a month, this trolley tour will guide you through the historic downtown buildings. Iconic landmarks include the Enterprise Roller Mill, Braselton family homeplace, town hall, the cotton gin, school and jail. All tours are 90 minutes long and admission is $10 for ages 5 and up. Event Name: First Friday Concert Series: Vintage Vixens

Event Location: 100 Spring St., SE, Gainesville
Event Details: Join us on the beautiful Gainesville square for this free summer concert series. The Vintage Vixens, an all-female group, rock the retro sound, inspired by 60’s culture. These ladies look like the music-groovy, funky and hippie! They play covers from Rolling Stones, Beatles, Motown, The Mamas & Papas and more. There may be a few 70’s favorites thrown in there too.
