A GoFundMe campaign was recently created by the family of Rosa Ojeda who was killed on Thursday, May 30 in Gainesville.

Rosa Ojeda’s son, Osvaldo Alejo, set up the fundraiser to help pay for her memorial expenses.

“In the early hours of Thursday, May 30th, tragedy struck my family. My beloved mother, Rosa Ojeda, was taken from us. She was not just a mother; she was the epitome of love and support, devoted to her children beyond measure. Her infectious smile lit up every room she entered, and her kindness touched the lives of all who knew her,” Alejo wrote on the GoFundMe.

As of Wednesday, the GoFundMe has raised $13,220 of the $25,000 goal.

"At just 18 years old, I find myself navigating the aftermath of this tragedy alone," Alejo said on the GoFundMe. "My older brother, Eric Alejo, 20, is serving in the military, unable to be by my side during this devastating time. I am left to grapple with the unimaginable loss of my mother, who single-handedly raised me with unwavering love and dedication."
