Three vehicle wreck causes diesel fuel spill along a Forsyth County roadway Thursday

By Steve Winslow Anchor/Reporter

A multi-vehicle wreck that creates a fuel spill along a heavily travelled road in Forsyth County (Thursday) is under investigation.

Forsyth County Sheriff's Office says the three vehicle wreck along Browns Bridge Road after 7:00 a.m. involved a pickup truck hauling a tank carrying 250 gallons of diesel fuel in its truck bed.

Investigators say that the fuel tank ruptured during the wreck, spilling into the roadway in front of the Walmart near Bridgetowne Drive, causing a partial road closure throughout the morning.

The Forsyth County Fire Department and Sheriff's Office deputies worked through the morning hours to clear the debris and open the roadway. Forsyth Sheriff's officials have not listed a cause for the crash or if citations and charges will be filed.
