The Hall County Commission Chair primary race will be decided in a runoff election between Incumbent Richard Higgins and David Gibbs, scheduled for June 18.
The May 21 primary election was originally between Higgins, Gibbs, and Craig Lutz.
The results from Tuesday’s race show Higgins with just under 50% of the votes, Gibbs with over 38%, and Lutz with over 11%.
Higgins served as chair of the Hall County Board of Commissioners for eight years after being elected in 2016. Prior to that, he served on the Hall County Board of Education.
Gibbs previously ran for Hall County District 3 Commissioner in 2022.
