Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) has recently received three grants totaling the amount of $700,000 from the National Science Foundation (NSF). These grants are targeted to help address certain needs in the information technology field.
A press release from the GGC says the most recent grant of $200,000 was awarded on March 26 to improve retention and academic success for GGC’s I.T.majors. Another grant of $200,000 was awarded on March 19 to fund a special internship program for I.T. students to help them gain real world experience.
According to the GGC's Dean of Science and Technology, Dr. Chavonda Mills, these grants and a $300,000 grant from October 2023 ffor the Technology Ambassador Program (TAP), will help find and resolve gaps in the I.T. field.
Mills adds, "We appreciate the generosity of NSF and the dedication and hard work of our faculty to recognize and find solutions for gaps in the information technology field."
