Mother's Day is this Sunday, and there are plenty of ways you and your mom can enjoy the weekend together around Northeast Georgia.

Event Name: Fridays in Duluth
Event Date & Time: Friday, May 10, 6 – 9 p.m. 
Event Location: Duluth Town Green, 3142 Hill St., Duluth
Event Details: This Friday is “Dog Days of Summer” so bring your four-legged best friend! Experience exotic flavors in a mobile vending setting with amazing local cuisine. Event Name: Latin Arts Festival  
Event Date & Time: Friday, May 10, 3:30 – 9 p.m.
Event Location: Downtown Flowery Branch  
Event Details: Dancers, food and soulful music will all honor the Latin culture! There will be unique artwork from local vendors in a vibrant setting. Don’t miss the opportunity to experience the rich tapestry of Latin culture in our community. 

Event Name: Fiber Festival in the Valley
Event Date & Time: Friday through Sunday, May 10 - 12
Event Location: Sautee Nacoochee Cultural Center
Event Details: This three-day event at the Sautee Nacoochee Center is celebrating all things fiber. Friday is devoted to workshops with local fiber artists, while Saturday and Sunday will focus on vendors, demonstrations, food, raffles and more. The demonstrations will include fiber animals such as alpaca and sheep. This event is free and runs from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Sunday. Event Name: 26th Annual Duck Derby
Event Date & Time: Saturday, May 11, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Event Location: Lake Lanier Olympic Park, 3105 Clarks Bridge Rd., Gainesville
Event Details: Every year the community rallies in support of the Boys & Girls Club of Lanier by adopting rubber ducks for an amazing race on Lake Lanier. Each duck adopted helps to provide thousands of children with a safe, positive and educational environment with programs that help them prepare to succeed in school and in life. The Duck Derby is a FREE family fun event with bounce houses, petting zoo, face painting, live entertainment, food, vendors and drinks. Event Name: Gainesville Adult Field Day  
Event Date & Time: Saturday, May 11, 2 p.m. 
Event Location: The Arts Council, 331 Spring St., Gainesville
Event Details: Hosted by the Arts Council, Smithgall Arts Center.   Join us for Gainesville’s First Annual Adult Field Day! Either bring a team of four or we will place you a team. It will be a fun day of competitive events and big prizes. All proceeds will go to benefit Trailblazers School of North Georgia. Event Name: Touch-A-Truck Day

Event Location: Don Carter State Park, Gainesville
Event Details: Touch, see and talk about all kinds of trucks and other big equipment. A Georgia State Park Pass is required to attend the event. The event will be held at the day-use boat ramp. 

Event Name: Celebrate Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month
Event Date & Time: Saturday, May 11, 12 – 8 p.m. 
Event Location: Suwanee Town Center Park, 330 Town Center Ave., Suwanee
Event Details: Asian cultural performances, costumes, music and food! This is a family-friendly event aimed to deepen your experience and understanding of Asian cultures and histories. Event Name: Mother’s Day Weekend Butterfly Bash  
Event Date & Time: Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12, 1 – 7 p.m. 
Event Location: Dahlonega Butterfly Farm, 427 Castleberry Bridge Rd., Dahlonega
Event Details: Sip and stroll through the gardens while surrounding by amazing artists sponsored by the Dahlonega Arts Alliance. It’s the perfect place to take mom who will enjoy the flowers and butterflies. More information can be found on www.dahlonegabutterfly.com.  

Event Name: Hiawassee Highlands Wine Festival 
Event Date & Time: Saturday, May 11, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Event Location: Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds, Hiawassee
Event Details: This wine festival will have plenty of wine, but also plenty of fun! Enjoy live music on two different stages, arts and crafts, food trucks and tours of the blooming Hamilton Rhododendron Gardens. 

Event Name: Latino Family Festival 
Event Date & Time: Saturday, - Sunday, 4 – 10 p.m.
Event Location: Stone Mountain Park, Stone Mountain
Event Details: The 2nd Annual Latino Family Festival features a family-friendly drone and light show, a parade, international talent, including Aztec Dancers, Colombian Ballet, Mexican Ballet, Flamenco Dancers, Mariachi Bands, Stilt Walkers and more. Live concerts will take place each day, as well. This will happen the first three weekends in May. The only cost is admission into the park. 

THEATER PRODUCTIONS:

Event Name: Junie B. Jones Jr., The Musical 
Event Date & Time: Friday, May 10, 7 – 8 p.m.
Event Location: Sautee Nacoochee Cultural Center, Sautee
Event Details: The classic book series comes to life with this version of the lovable, and playful, June B. Jones who is on her very first day of 1st grade. Lovable characters and fun-filled song make this a great production for the entire family to enjoy. Go to www.snca.org for details. 

Event Name: The Greatest Showman
Event Date & Time: Saturday, May 11, 6 p.m.
Event Location: Horizon Christian Academy   
Event Details: Produced by Christian Fine Arts of Forsyth (CFAF), a group of talented students will be performing the songs and storyline of The Greatest Showman. Event Name: Bonnie & Clyde

Event Name: Gospel in the Park

Event Location: Main Street Park, Dawsonville  
Event Details: “Down-home gospel music” means exactly that – gospel music all day long. Cost is free!Just bring a chair or picnic blanket. Performances by Six-time Grammy nominated, nine-time GMA Dove Award Winning, Karen Peck and New River. Other groups include Randy and Mary Perry, The Raven Welch Band, Debra Perry & Jaidyn’s Call.
