Blue Sky Concert Series kicks off on Downtown Gainesville Square

By Lawson Smith Anchor/Reporter

The Blue Sky Concert Series kicked off on the Downtown Gainesville Square Wednesday with a performance from Andrew Lilly.

Presented by Main Street Gainesville, the weekly series allows residents explore local businesses on the square while listening to live music each Wednesday in May.

“Grab your coworkers, book a lunch date with a friend, or just get out of the office for a bit and head downtown, " Explore Gainesville's website said. "Grab lunch to-go from your favorite restaurant or eat at a sidewalk café, shop at local boutiques, and enjoy live music from 11:30am-1:30pm on the Historic Downtown Square!”

The  lineup for the remainder of May is as follows:

May 8th: Eduardo Cautiño

May 15th: Rodney Appleby

May 22nd: Chad Bowmar

May 29th: Out Past Nine Band

Those planning to attend are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets to watch the performances. Coolers are allowed, however, the city asked to not bring glass or alcohol.
