Gas prices across Georgia saw a slight decrease at the pump compared to a week ago.
AAA of Georgia's latest report shows that commuters are paying an average price of $3.39 per gallon for regular gasoline.
Monday's state average is 3 cents less than a week ago, 6 cents more than a month ago and 6 cents more than this time last year.
“Domestic gas demand is slow-paced at the moment, which is not uncommon leading up to Memorial Day,” said Montrae Waiters, AAA-The Auto Club Group spokeswoman. “Last week's nationwide peak price of $3.67 may very well stand unchallenged well into hurricane season. However, as always, the unpredictable variable remains the oil costs, thus keep your eyes peeled.”
Hall County's average price for gas sits at $3.32, with the lowest area average price found throughout Northeast Georgia in Hart County at $3.24 per gallon.
The highest average price in the area is in Rabun County at $3.42 per gallon.
