Investigators identify victim in fatal Hall County motorcycle crash

By Steve Winslow Anchor/Reporter

The Georgia State Patrol has identified the victim from a fatal Monday afternoon motorcycle crash in Hall County as a Gainesville man.

A press release said Marshall Thomas, 46, was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle along Lula Road westbound just before 6:00 p.m. when he attempted to negotiate a curve near Breezy Drive and left the roadway. Investigators say the motorcycle struck a culvert pipe, sending it and Thomas airborne into a nearby sign, before striking a roadside tree.

GSP says further safety officials responded to the scene with EMS crews transporting Thomas from the crash site to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

No further details have been released.
