GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Both North Hall tennis teams swept into the second round of the Class 4A playoffs on Monday at the North Hall Courts.
The Lady Trojans blanked Luella, 3-0, behind strong singles play. Lilly Perry at No. 1 singles and Maggie Perry at No. 2 singles both took dominating wins, dropping just one game combined.. The No. 2 doubles team of Braely Jarrard and Ali Moore completed the shutout win with a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
North Hall next will take on the Clarkston-Central Carroll winner in the Sweet 16. That match will need to be played by Thursday, April 24.
The boys followed suit after the girls, dropping just five games ina 5-0 win over Hampton.
The No. 1 doubles of Luis Delgado and Brooks Dorsey won 6-1, 6-0 and the No. 2 team of Easton McNair and James Floyd took a 6-2, 6-1 victory to sweep the doubles.
Jack Maddox at No. 1 singles won 6-0, 6-0 and Griffin Keener at No. 2 singles won 6-0, 6-1 to finish off the lopsided victory.
The North Hall boys next will travel to Sonoraville in the second round. That match will need to be played by Thursday, April 24.
