NEW YORK — Atlanta United returns to action Saturday as the club travels to Citi Field to take on New York City FC.

The match is set to kick-off at 7:30 p.m.

Atlanta holds an all-time record of 4-5-6 against New York City FC in MLS play: 3-1-3 at home and 1-4-3 on the road. This is the first of two meetings between the teams in 2024 as Atlanta will host NYCFC on July 17 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Atlanta enters the weekend with the best goal differential in the league at plus-five. After finishing the 2023 season with the second-most goals scored in MLS, the team has found more defensive balance through the first five matches in 2024, allowing the second-fewest goals in the league. The four goals conceded in the team's first five matches equals the team's best defensive start to a season in club history (2021), while the club's two clean sheets is also tied for the most through the first five matches to start a league campaign.

Saba Lobjanidze recorded seven key passes against Chicago, which is a new career-high and the most by any Atlanta player this season.

Lobjanidze and Brooks Lennon have combined to form a productive partnership on Atlanta's right side, as the team leads MLS with four goals scored from the right side as well as successful cross percentage from the right side at 58.3%.

Thiago Almada continues to be one of the best chance creators in MLS and currently ranks fourth in shot creating actions per match at 6.5.
