By Austin Eller News Director

Those with a green thumb can partake in North Georgia's largest plant sale this weekend with the return of the Hall County Master Gardeners Spring Expo.

The 2024 expo will be held at the Chicopee Woods Agricultural Center in Gainesville from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Admission is $2 per adult, but children are free.

Anita House, chairperson for the expo, said the event will offer a range of vendors, with over 40 present.

"Our vendors range anywhere from vegetable starts ... all the way to your native perennials, to unique and unusual - we actually have a carnivorous plant vendor this year," House said.

Other items will also be available for purchase, including gardening tools and decorations.

Three education sessions featuring guest speakers will be held during the event.

  • 1 p.m. Friday - "GA Snakes - Not to be feared" - Linda May with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources will speak on Georgia's snake population.
  • 11 a.m. Saturday - "Growing and using herbs" - Diane Korentiewski, vendor and Hall County Master Gardener, will speak on herbs, sources, cultivation, harvesting and culinary tips.
  • 1 p.m. Saturday - "Meadow-scaping for pollinators" - Rose and Mark Barton, Hall County Master Gardeners, will share their knowledge on creating habitats for pollinators using wildflowers.

More information on the event is available here.
