Eight Hall County students have been named as finalists and two were chosen as alternates for the Georgia Governor’s Honors Program for summer 2024.
GHP is a residential summer program for rising high school juniors and seniors that demonstrate advanced skills in a specific area of study. Administered by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement, the program will be hosted on the campus of Georgia Southern University.
The program aims to offer its students with instruction beyond what is seen in a typical classroom and inspire them to become critical thinkers, innovators, and leaders.
Over 4,200 students from across the state applied to the program. About 1500 students auditioned and interviewed in February, and 700 students were chosen to participate.
