By AccessWDUN Staff

Former President Donald Trump spoke with WDUN this week as part of the station's 75th anniversary celebration.

The discussion, which aired Tuesday morning on WDUN's Mornings on Maine Street, featured Jacobs Media Corp. President/CEO Jay Jacobs, Board Member Anna Jacobs, Director of Digital Strategy John Jacobs, and Executive Vice President and General Manager Bill Maine.

A full video of the conversation can be viewed in the Vimeo player above.

Jay spoke with Trump about WDUN's upcoming move of its broadcast operations to the Gainesville Renaissance building in Downtown Gainesville.

"All that's really possible because ... of legislation you passed," Jay said, referring to the Opportunity Zones legislation.

"That's one of the best economic development legislations ever passed," Trump said in response. "I did it with Tim Scott - he was very much for it."

Trump discussed some of his future plans as he continues his 2024 re-election campaign.

"We're going to protect our country because other countries are ripping us off so badly on trade," Trump said. "And I had us very largely protected."

"We're going to get back to common sense energy," Trump said. "Not where everybody's mandated to buy an electric car they don't want."

Finally, Trump provided warm wishes as WDUN celebrates its 75th year on air.

"WDUN is a really special place and it's a special voice, and I want to wish them a very happy 75th anniversary," Trump said.
