By Jeff Hart Sports Reporter

NORCROSS, Ga. — Dawson County ran its win streak to four with a 13-8 win over Wesleyan in a big win on the road to open the two teams’ three-game Region 7-3A series.

The Tigers (11-4, 5-2 Region 7-3A) scored in all but one inning, led by Davis Glass, who drove in four runs on two hits. Jackson Rickett had three hits and Sawyer Bearden and Elijah Odom had two hits and two RBI.

Dawson County trailed 4-3 after the second inning but scored a run in third, two in the fifth, and three in the sixth to take a 9-4 lead. Wesleyan  (4-8, 1-3 Region 7-3A) pulled within 9-7 with three runs in the bottom of the sixth but the Tigers put it away with a four-run seventh.

Trey Harvey got the win for the Tigers, lasting five innings and yielding four runs (just one earned) on five hits and walking five. He fanned eight.

The two teams will play on Wednesday in Dawsonville with the Tigers looking to win the three-game series.

EAST JACKSON 13,
FELLOWSHIP CHRISTIAN 2

Aidan Holley tossed a complete-game two-hitter to lead the Eagles to their second straight Region 8-2A win on Tuesday on the road.

It was a tight pitcher’s duel early between Holley and the Paladins James Sharp, with East Jackson leading 1-0 heading to the fifth. But the Eagles offense exploded for three runs in the fifth, five in the sixth, and four in the seventh to pull away for the blowout win.

Payton Garner hit a solo home run for East Jackson (8-8, 2-2 Region 8-2A) while Walker Mauldin had three hits and Ty Bennett and Jason Duttin had two hits apiece for the Eagles.

The two teams will play a doubleheader on Friday at East Jackson.

THE KING’S ACADEMY 16,
LANIER CHRISTIAN 1

Lanier Christian Academy fell to 8-2 on the season with a loss home on Tuesday.

The Lightning struck first in the first inning with a solo home run from Josh Lebel, his second of the season. But it was all King’s Academy from there.

Carter Sexton, Drew Kalinauskas, and Landry Boling all pitched for LCA.

Gavin Strabala, Owen Joy, and Hayden David had hits for the Lightning.

LCA next will play host to region foe Pinecrest Academy Thursday.
