Match preview: Atlanta United taking on Orlando City

ATLANTA – Atlanta United returns to action on Sunday as the club hosts Orlando City SC at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The match is set to kick-off at 7 p.m.

Atlanta holds an all-time record of 8-4-7 against Orlando in MLS play: 3-2-4 at home and 5-2-3 on the road. This is the first of two meetings between the teams in 2024 as Atlanta will travel to Orlando on Decision Day.

Giorgos Giakoumakis recorded his first career MLS hat trick and was named MLS Player of the Matchday for his performance in the club's 4-1 win against New England. The striker is averaging 0.92 Goals per 90 minutes, which ranks him second all-time in MLS among players who have scored at least 20 goals. He's currently tied for first in goals scored in MLS with three.

Atlanta will look to strengthen its home record when scoring multiple goals on Sunday. When scoring two or more goals at home, the team owns an all-time record of 82-7-23.

Brad Guzan has recorded seven clean sheets against Orlando, the most against any opponent since he joined Atlanta in 2017.

Atlanta's home crowd of 67,727 was the third-largest soccer crowd in the world on March 9 and the fifth-largest crowd of the weekend.
