Cleveland Police say Truett McConnell University threat connected to nationwide incident

The Cleveland Police Department said Wednesday afternoon that an email sent to Truett McConnel College with threats of violence was also sent to over 100 colleges and universities across the nation. 

Cleveland Police Officials said the email made specific threats of an active shooter and the use of explosives. A majority of the threats 

Coordination between law enforcement, public safety and campus staff enabled the campus to be secured and cleared safely. 

The response discovered no evidence or credibility to the threat. 

The Cleveland Police Department will continue to work with campus officials and the incident remains under investigation. 

The response included the Cleveland Police Department, TMU security, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Georgia Homeland Security, Cleveland Fire Department, White County Fire Department, White County Emergency Management and White County Emergency Services.
