Laken Riley lived life. She didn’t have to die on that run on the UGA campus in Athens, Georgia last Thursday and if President Biden had just done as much as President Obama (known as the Deporter in Chief) or President Trump did with the same laws on the books, she wouldn’t be dead. This is a reckoning for Democratic elected leadership because the messaging they are clinging to doesn not represent the views of most people. This issue is not partisan, left or right. It is a question of right and wrong.
The death of Laken Riley has become a national and international story. It’s a real story of a person that just did something she did every day, and she never came home. That would be tragic by itself, but the fact that it was perpetrated by an illegal immigrant, who had interactions with law-enforcement before the murder means it could’ve been prevented and that made this murder hard to handle at every level. On top of all that, it’s been revealed that this murderer (I won’t say his name), didn’t qualify for asylum and should not have been let in in 2022. The same time President Biden and Vice President Harris were telling us the border was secure. One of the many times they have lied about this.The immigration issue was already trending with voters as a big issue. But this event brought it home to everyone. It’s not a question of left or right it’s a question of right and wrong. If the law had been followed at the border or in the other interactions, this person had with law-enforcement, Laken Riley would be alive and people can’t stomach that.
President Obama and President Trump did an infinitely better job securing the border with exactly the laws that President Biden has. He is not telling the American people the truth about what he has the power to do. There should be changes to how we do things, but border security is national security, and this administration has been an object failure at it And Democrats, Republicans and independents are seeing that now.
I have verified independently there are currently 1.5 million illegal immigrants who have been through the adjudication process and are supposed to be deported because they do not meet the requirements of asylum and the Biden administration will not deport them. This is unconscionable.
The biggest problem is with elected Democratic officials. Their rhetoric has not caught up with what people are actually thinking related to this issue. From President Biden to the United States Senate to the State House to Congress, they are talking about the wrong issue, and that is, you cannot have real immigration reform unless the border is secure. President Biden has the power to do it and he needs to do what his predecessors have done to secure it. The average person sees that and many elected officials in leadership roles with a D by their name do not.
Laken Riley’s death cannot be in vain and it won’t if we fix this now. Mr. President, stop playing politics and do your job.
