While Regions 8-7A, 8-6A, 8-5A, and 8-4A will hold some crucial region matchups on Friday on the pitch, none will be more interesting than the pair of games in the Hall/Whitfield County Showcase at The Dungeon.
Johnson, ranked No. 1 in Class 4A in the latest scorbord.com poll, will take on Class 5A No. 1-ranked Dalton in the nightcap. That will follow a showdown between Class 4A fourth-ranked East Hall and Northwest Whitfield.
The Knights (3-0-1) are coming off a 10-0 thumping of Madison County on Tuesday. Dalton (4-1) walloped Class 4A Heritage-Catoosa 6-2 on Wednesday.
East Hall (3-1) is coming off a 4-2 loss to Walnut Grove on Tuesday, while Northwest Whitefield (2-0-2) has won two straight, getting wins over defending Class 3A state champion Coahulla Creek and knocking off Class 5A fifth-ranked Calhoun, 4-1, on Wednesday.
