Lanier Technical College hosted the annual Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Business Expo Thursday.
The free event featured over 60 local businesses, ranging from banks to media outlets. Several of those are regular attendees of the expo.
Chris Kinsey with Millie's Drapery and Decorating spoke early in the event, which runs from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. He said it's a chance for the company to be visible in the community.
"It's a great event to showcase local businesses and we want to be relevant and present and let people see us," Kinsey said. "Usually it's a little slower until after lunch, then it picks up a little bit, but we've already had a couple of people come by and pick up some cards."
Trey Chesser with Conditioned Air Systems said the expo is a chance for businesses to interact with one another.
"Networking and meeting people, I think, is crucial for business, even if you don't get business out of the actual event," Chesser said.
Ellie Parker, vice president of membership events for the chamber, said the variety of businesses attending the event enhances those networking opportunities.
"The business-to-business interaction here is great because it's a really wide variety of areas they're operating in as far as geographic areas, but also what they're doing," Parker said. "We love (Lanier Technical College), we do many events here. They're very helpful."
