A Gainesville man is behind bars after authorities seized thousands of dollars worth of drugs from a home in the North Hall County area.

Hall County Sheriff's Office Spokeswoman B.J. Williams said investigators arrested Kevin Lee McIntyre, age 57, on Monday at the home on Cleveland Highway near Jess Helton Road.

"This is an arrest that came as a result of a basic drug investigation. Mr. McIntyre, the suspect, is known to our investigators," Williams said. "While (investigators) were there, they found a fairly large quantity of illegal drugs. We're talking about 165 grams of methamphetamine, 50 clonazepam pills and 21 alprazolam pills."

Williams said cocaine and marijuana were found in McIntyre's possession during the search, as well as a 9 mm pistol. The total estimated street value of the drugs was just under $13,000.

McIntyre is being held in the Hall County Jail without bond on possession and trafficking charges for various drugs.
