UPDATE: Lawrenceville man charged with murder of wife at senior living facility

Update 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6:

A Lawrenceville man has been charged with murder after his wife was found dead at a senior living facility in Gwinnett County Tuesday morning.

Gwinnett County Police officials said detectives charged Richard Hayden, age 81, with felony murder, malice murder and aggravated assault in the death of Grace Hayden, age 71, also of Lawrenceville.

Richard Hayden was being evaluated at a local hospital for reasons reportedly unrelated to the incident at Linwood Estates Gracious Living as of Tuesday afternoon. Once released, officials say he will be transported to the Gwinnett County Jail.

Grace Hayden's cause of death has not yet been determined pending an evaluation by the Gwinnett County Medical Examiner's Office.

Police in Gwinnett County are investigating a Tuesday morning death that reportedly came as the result of a domestic dispute at a senior living facility near Lawrenceville.

Gwinnett County Police Department officials said officers were called around 10:00 a.m. to Linwood Estates Gracious Retirement Living on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road. When they arrived, the reportedly found a woman dead inside one of the facility's rooms.

A male suspect who lived in the room with the woman was arrested at the scene. The names of those involved have not been released.

Crime scene units with the police department were reportedly still at the facility as of 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Gwinnett County Medical Examiner's Office has been requested to help investigate.
