GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Lakeview Academy clinched the top seed from GIAA Region 4A/3A with a 44-37 win over George Walton at home on Tuesday.
Emyrie Combs led all scorers with 17 points, pulled down 8 rebounds and swiped 3 steals for the Lady Lions (21-1, 5-0 GIAA 4A/3A). Dynesty Putman added 15 points and 4 steals.
DAWSON COUNTY 63,
WHITE COUNTY 51
The Lady Tigers (16-8, 8-3 Region 7-3A) rallied to the lead in the second quarter and never looked back in the win over White County at home on Tuesday.
White County (17-7, 5-6 Region 7-3A) jumped out to an 11-6 lead in the first quarter and held on to a 17-15 advantage at the end of the first 8 minutes.
Dawson County grabbed the lead, 21-19, early in the second quarter and never trailed again.
Eva Bishop scored 16 of her game-high 21 points in the first half.
In the second half, Morgan Chester scored 13 of her 19 points in the second half, helping the Lady Tigers extend their lead to 48-34 at the end of the third quarter.
White County was led by Kylie Watkins with 17 points, and Mya Yeh had 11.
The win leaves the Lady Tigers tied for second in the Region 7-3A standings with a road game left at No. 2 Wesleyan on Friday.

The Lady War Eagles closed out their regular season in impressive style on Tuesday.
Every player scored for Chestatee (20-5, 9-1 Region 8-4A North), led by Riley Black’s 33 points and 14 rebounds.
Caroline Bull added 11 points and 5 rebounds for the Lady War Eagles.
Chestatee will be back in action on Monday in the Region 8-4A tournament, taking on Cedar Shoals again.
RABUN COUNTY 64,
ELBERT COUNTY 42
The Lady Wildcats shook off their loss to Athens Christian on Friday to get a win over the Lady Blue Devils at home.
Lucy Hood had another big game with 22 points, 5 assists, and 4 steals to lead Rabun County (18-6, 5-2, 8-3 Region 8-A Division 1). Ellie Southards added 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists, and Mili Watts had 13 points and 4 rebounds for the Lady Wildcats.
Rabun County will close out the season on Friday at Tallulah Falls.
BUFORD 61,
DACULA 57
The Lady Wolves held off a late charge to close out a perfect Region 8-7A schedule on Tuesday at The Buford Arena.
The game was tied at 16 after the first quarter, but Buford used a 20-8 second to pull away for a 36-24 halftime lead.
The Lady Falcons chipped away, outscoring Buford 20-17 in the third and then getting within one possession late in the game.
Ava Grace Watson had 28 points, 19 in the first half, to pace Buford. Lydia Ledford had 13 for the Lady Wolves.
Danah Nembhard had 23 points to lead Dacula.
BANKS COUNTY 74,
PROVIDENCE CHRISTIAN 30
The Lady Leopards closed out the regular season with their 15th consecutive win.
Banks County (21-4, 10-0 Region 8-2A) opened the game with a 25-7 first quarter and finished the game with a 28-3 en route to the blowout win.

The Lady Raiders, who already had clinched the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Region 8-6A tournament, used a huge second quarter run to blow open a close game.
North Forsyth (25-0, 12-0 Region 8-2A) led just 14-11 after the opening period but outscored Apalachee 23-1 in the second to run out to a 37-12 lead at halftime.

The Lady Dragons completed an undefeated regular season in Region 8-5A with a big win at home on Tuesday.
Michel Robbins had 20 points to pace Jefferson (22-3, 12-0 Region 8-5A).

The Lady Lightning ended their regular season with a perfect 6-0 record in the GAPPS region after Tuesday’s win.
LCA was led by Adelyn Gough with 12 points. Ellie Roberts chipped in 8. Emma Flowers, Moriah Clark, Jia Thapar, and Madison Wade each had 6 points. Brianna Clark added 5 points.
