The City of Lawrenceville’s newest art exhibition can now be viewed on the Main Level of City Hall throughout the month of February, in celebration of Black History Month.
"Community and Unity", is the collaborative effort with the School of the Arts at Central Gwinnett and Discovery High School .
A release from the City of Lawrenceville says the display showcases a collection of impactful works. Artists featured in the exhibition include Aaryn Middlebrooks, Akina Smith, Alex Woods, Amiya Johnson, Arima Tenia, Chaziah Morrison, Dane Caston, Jessenia McDaniel, Miya Paige, and Myarion Nelson.
Visitors are invited to view the works on display throughout the month of February from Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Chuck Warbington, Lawrenceville City Manager says in the release, “The City of Lawrenceville extends our heartfelt gratitude to the artists for their invaluable contributions to this exhibit. Our staff continues to find creative ways to celebrate by involving our community in the creative process. Unique perspectives and a collaborative spirit have enriched this exhibition, allowing us to celebrate and reflect upon the profound beauty and strength woven into the collective history of the Black experience.”
