It was a memorable year of awards for an area foundation.
The North Georgia Community Foundation (NGCF) has announced that more than $692,000 has been awarded through the NGCF Community Fund this year. These grants are made possible by the generosity of both current and legacy NGCF fundholders, as well as the foundation’s grant programs.
The Community Grants Program, a cornerstone of the foundation, reached a new milestone this year, awarding $520,007. That's the largest community grant cycle in NGCF's history.
The NGFC's President and CEO, Michelle Prater, says in a press release that thanks to the enduring partnership with the W. Frank and Lillie Mae Green Fund at NGCF and the unwavering support of additional generous fundholders, an array of both programmatic and general operating needs have been met.
The recipients of this year’s Community Grants were honored together at a special celebration in early December. Additionally, the NGCF Opportunity Grants Program, which announced five recipients in November, contributed an additional $127,500, further extending the foundation’s reach and making a greater impact across North Georgia.
