The Johnson boys basketball picked up its first win of the season with a 62-48 win over Atlanta International on the road Tuesday.
Maddox Whitmire scored 18 of his team-high 21 points from the 3-point line to lead the Knights. Monty Young had 13 points, and Cruz Gobert chipped in 12 points.
Johnson trailed 19-9 at the end of the first quarter and 30-22 at halftime. Young sparked the Knights in the third quarter, scoring eight of his 13 points to help Johnson outscore AI 26-8 and run to the lead.
The Knights outpaced Atlanta International 42-16 in the second half.

Louie Koulovaris scored 22 points, and Tyler Lesch had 21 to lead East Forsyth past Flowery Branch on the road Tuesday.
Hunter Holbrook added 16 points.
The Broncos jumped out to a 25-13 lead after the first quarter, but the Falcons rallied back in the second quarter to cut the lead to 37-33 at halftime.
EaFo held the Falcons to nine points in the third quarter to push the lead to 58-42 by the end of the third quarter.
Jack Huey scored 18 points to lead the Falcons, and John Osorio had 12.
