The Shift Right in Georgia and the Canary in the Coal Mine

By Martha Zoller Host, Morning Talk

It's been about a month since the election and there's been some reflection. I appeared this week with Tharon Johnson, a Democratic strategist, and it's clear they still don't get it. They still don't get why they lost. There is still a disconnect between the Democratic Party message and the rank and file Georgian and American. So it's our time as conservatives to further our agenda and keep our promises. And it's not just posturing for the 2026 elections, it's getting things done.

Everyone thought the that Georgia was going to be close. After all, it was only a 12,000 margin in 2020. But in 2024, that margin was more than 100,000 votes. And Josh McKoon, the Chair of the Georgia GOP, got the vote out in Georgia along with the help of the Kemp Hardworking Georgians PAC and Kelly Loeffler’s Greater Georgia and Ralph Reed’s Faith and Freedom Coalition. We got the vote out like Democrats do and a lot of Democrats either stayed home, left it blank or voted for someone else. Georgia Democrats are blaming everyone but themselves. They were out of touch with the voters, plain and simple.

We continue to have the fringes of the Democrat Party embracing the new anti-semitism. Vice President Kamala Harris never knew how to speak with clarity on this issue and in the final days she was competing with herself in commercials she ran in Michigan and Pennsylvania. She was even called out by CNN on this conflict of message. President-elect Donald Trump has been clear to Hamas that they have to release the hostages by Inauguration Day or there will be "hell to pay." This is clarity of message and takes into account we would not be here had it not been for October 7th. The message of the 2024 election is unity of message beats identity politics and the issue that shows that message in the strongest terms is the left's inability to denounce anti-semitism in all it's forms. It's the canary in the coal mine and only time will tell how it turns out.
