Three suspects face charges in connection to over 100 storage unit burglaries in the Gwinnett County area.
Detectives with the Gwinnett County Police Department received reports of over 60 storage units on Old Norcross Road being broken into on Dec 4. And Dec. 6. During an investigation into the incident, detectives located a suspicious U-Haul truck in the area on Flock cameras. The renter of that truck was identified as Shusune Arrington , 21, of Union City. Arrington fit the description of one of the suspects seen in security footage at the storage facility, according to a release from GCPD.
Later, on Dec 10., officers responded to a suspicious person call at a storage unit on Five Forks Trickum Rd. Officers then located a U-Haul occupied by Arrington and Teshauna Lovett , 26, of Atlanta, at that facility. Officers arrested Arrington and Lovett at the scene. Detectives reportedly determined that Niquay Dexter, 33, of Atlanta, had fled on foot just before officers contacted Arrington and Lovett.
Officers also determined that 55 additional units were allegedly broken into at the time of that incident.
Arrington and Lovett were charged with seven counts of Burglary in the Second Degree. Detectives are currently inventorying the recovered property that was in the U-Haul and have taken out Burglary in the Second-Degree charges on Dexter. Dexter is currently not in custody.
Detectives were able to return nearly $20,000 in Dewalt tools to one storage unit owner so far. Investigators in the case asked anyone who was a victim of a burglary at either location to contact them about missing property.
