A pair of related crashes in the same area of Dawsonville Highway left four people injured Tuesday morning.
The Georgia State Patrol said the first accident happened at around 2:20 a.m. near the Bolling Bridge at the Hall-Forsyth county line.
"The crash involved a tractor trailer that struck a guardrail and overturned in a ditch," a report from the state patrol said.
The driver of that truck was injured and taken to a nearby hospital. The scene remained active until 6:45 a.m., with the congestion caused by the accident ultimately causing the second wreck.
The state patrol says a Toyota Corolla driven by Luis Villaviciendo Rodriguez, age 24 of Flowery Branch, was going west on Dawsonville Highway when it rear-ended a vehicle that was stuck in traffic. That collision sent that vehicle into another one in front of it.
The drivers of all three vehicles in that wreck were injured and Villviciendo Rodriguez was cited by the state patrol for following too closely.
The crashes left multiple lanes of Dawsonville Highway shut down for several hours.
