Gas prices statewide have "parked in neutral" at the pumps compared to a week ago for much of northern Georgia
Commuters are expecting to pay an average of $2.93 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline today. Monday's state average is 22 cents more than a month ago and 9 cents more than this time last year, according to the latest figures from AAA of Georgia.
Montrae Waiters of AAA says, "Hurricane Sara may start to stir things up in the Gulf of Mexico, and that could nudge gas prices a notch higher. Some early predictions show she could be taking a trip towards Florida around mid-week, so let's keep our eyes peeled for what that means for us.”
Hall County commuters should see a slightly higher price from their average last week, hovering at around $2.89 per gallon, as of Monday. The lowest average price per gallon in northeast Georgia is in Hart County, at $2.75 per gallon. The highest average price is in Lumpkin County, at more than $2.98 per gallon.
Nationwide, the average price for unleaded regular gasoline is at $3.07 per gallon, as of early Monday morning. A link to view gas price averages can be found at the AAA website, here.
