Two people arrested after allegedly assaulting DFCS employee, kidnapping children

By Will Daughtry News Reporter

Two women were arrested after allegedly assaulting a Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) employee and kidnapping two children.

According to a Gwinnett County Police Department (GCPD) release, the incident occurred during a court-mandated visitation at a trampoline park.

On Nov. 8, GCPD reports that they responded to Sugarloaf Parkway after the DFCS employee contacted 9-1-1 to report the kidnapping.

The employee told officers that she was at the location so Starlita Moore could have her visitation with her two young children.

During the visitation, Moore allegedly punched the DFCS employee in the face and grabbed the two children.

Starlita’s 19-year-old daughter, Teisha Schulters, was also present and reportedly aided Starlita in getting the two children into a Chrysler 300 in the parking lot.

Authorities said that while Schulters was getting the children into the car, Moore continued assaulting the DFCS employee.

Moore and Schulters then left the scene.

Investigators responded and immediately alerted local law enforcement.

The Chrysler 300 was located by the Alabama State Patrol (ASP), who recovered both children unharmed.

Moore and Schulters were arrested on scene. Moore was charged with two counts of kidnapping, interstate interference with custody, battery, simple battery, and cruelty to children in the third-degree.

Schulters was charged with two counts of kidnapping and interstate interference with custody.

Both children were placed in custody of DFCS.
