Gwinnett County already preparing for their Christmas celebrations

By Steve Winslow Anchor/Reporter

Today may be October 31, also known to most as Halloween, but for one area county, the plans to celebrate the Christmas season are already in the works.

Gwinnett County officials report that their official Christmas tree will be the 40-foot Norway Spruce coming from the mountains of North Carolina to Georgia later today.  The tree will be installed on the lawn of the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse on Friday, November 1 for County team members to begin decorating.

It's all part for Gwinnett County’s 37th annual Lighting of the Tree event . This will be held on Thanksgiving night, and the tree will remain on display at the courthouse in Lawrenceville on West Crogan Street for the public throughout the holiday season.
