DAWSONVILLE, Ga. – Dawson County continued their stout defensive play with a 14-0 win over White County Friday night.
The Tigers scored late in the first quarter on a 1-yard run by Preston Bannister and doubled their lead four minutes later with a 61-yard touchdown pass from Gunnar Weaver to Dylan Edwards.
From there, Dawson County's defense buckled down, getting three red zone stops in the fourth quarter to keep the Warriors off the scoreboard.
Weaver finished 9-for-14 for 132 yards, while Cody McBrayer led the rushing attack with 21 carries for 125 yards. Tripp Nix was 18-of-37 for 253 yards passing in the loss.
