Softball: NHall captures 6-3A title with win over Lumpkin Co.

GAINESVILLE, Ga. — North Hall clinched the Region 6-3A title on Tuesday with an 8-0 win in five innings over Lumpkin County at home.

With the win also comes a guaranteed top eight seed in the upcoming Class 3A tournament. The playoffs begin Oct. 18 and will be held at eight different sites.

The Lady Trojans (17-7, 14-2 Region 6-3A) scored in all but one inning and Olivia Mullins tossed a no-hitter and struck out six and walked two in getting the complete-game win.

Emily Hudson, Marley Weaver, and Genesis Satterfield paced the 11-hit offensive attack. Hudson had three hits and two RBI, Weaver also had three hits and one RBI, and Satterfied added two hits, including a double, and two RBI for the Lady Trojans.

Taylor Burton took the loss for Lumpkin County (17-9, 9-6 Region 6-3A) going four innings, giving up six runs on seven hits, striking out one and walking three.

The Lady Indians still sit third in the standings with three games left, just percentage points ahead of Dawson County (14-13, 10-7 Region 6-3A) and won the season series 2-1 against the Lady Tigers.
