Jefferson is the biggest mover in the latest Georgia High School Association Class 3A Playoff Rankings released Tuesday morning.
Jefferson (4-3, .659 PSR) routed West Hall on Saturday and jumped from ninth to No. 4. Harlem is the top-ranked team, followed by Sandy Creek and Long County.
Cherokee Bluff (5-0, .655 PSR) remained at No. 5 for the second straight week. Bluff's game against Oconee County was moved to Oct. 16 due to Hurricane Helene.
Meanwhile, Lumpkin County's win over White County Monday night moved the Indians (4-2, .568 PSR) up six spots to No. 15. Despite North Hall's win over Pickens, the Trojans (3-2, .552 PSR) dropped one spot to 18th. West Hall (4-2, .527 PSR) dropped three spots to No. 25.
In Class 2A, East Jackson (3-3, .4995 PSR) is the highest-ranked area team but dropped four spots to No. 20. Union County, which isn't far behind East Jackson (3-3, .4991 PSR), is ranked 20th.
In Class A Division 1, Rabun County (5-1, .596 PSR) remains at 17th. Commerce (3-3, .542 PSR) rose two spots to No. 27. Fannin County (6-0, .707) is the highest-ranked public school in Class A Division 1 at No. 2.
The GHSA will use the playoff rankings to seed the playoffs this season in Class A, Division 1 through Class 3A.
