ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The East Hall boys rally fell short in a 71-61 loss to West Valley of Fairbanks, Alaska, on Saturday in the consolation bracket of the Alaska Airlines Classic.
West Valley’s Leyton Nield scored 26 points, 16 in a 24-12 run that helped the Wolfpack take control late in the game.
In the first half, the Wolfpack rushed out to a 23-16 lead, but the Vikings battled back to take a 29-27 lead at the half.
Chris Alford nailed three straight 3-pointers to help the Vikings take the lead. He finished with 16 points, including a 3-pointer early in the third quarter to tie the game 32-32.
However, Nield heated up again, popping another 3-pointer to give the Wolfpack the lead for good late.
Brayden Langston added 10 points, even rebounds and four blocked shots for the Vikings. Jamarcus Harrison had 11, and Khalil Goss had 12.
