Forsyth business leader Dorian Usherwood announced Wednesday his intention to run for Forsyth School Board District 3 in May.

Usherwood describes himself as a Republican education advocate.

“As the child of missionaries, I have traveled the world and experienced education systems from our Nation’s Capital to Belgium,” Usherwood said. “But the best schools in the world are right here in Forsyth - and I am running for School Board to help keep it that way.”

Usherwood has nearly three decades of experience in the private sector in that time he created innovative digital solutions, managed complex budgets and led diverse teams with staff around the world.

“I am uniquely equipped with the skills our students, teachers, and parents need to ensure that our tax dollars are spent wisely, provide our parent's transparency into what their children are learning, and keep our students focused on academics rather than dangerous political ideologies,” Usherwood said.

Usherwood said his campaign had raised close to $15,000 in contributions, which emphasizes the grassroots support for his campaign.
