Hall County Clerk of Courts announces retirement

Hall County's Clerk of Courts announced Tuesday morning his intention to retire at the end of 2024.

Charles Baker has held office as Clerk of Court for State and Superior Court in the county since he was first elected in 2008.

Baker was most recently re-elected to his position in a June 2020 primary, securing about 58% of the vote.

He previously served as Chief Deputy Clerk and has worked in various divisions of the Clerk of Courts office.

"After much thought and prayer, I have decided to retire at the end of my current term at the end of 2024," Baker said in a statement. "I have enjoyed my time in the Clerk's Office and I appreciate your support and confidence in me as Hall County Clerk of Court for State and Superior Court."
